B&F: Next Bargaining Dates

After the release of the last bargaining bulletin, it has become apparent that the March 27-31 bargaining dates have generated a lot of discussion amongst the membership.

B&F: CATCA Full-Time Classification Analyst

The current Classification Committee members were solicited for interest in the role, and after receiving multiple applications, the CATCA EB has chosen Gordon Howe of Buttonville. Gord brings a wealth of knowledge to the position, and he has a great desire to make improvements to the system.

Bargaining Bulletin No. 6: Jan. 30 – Feb. 3, 2017

Meetings resumed in Ottawa this week between the bargaining teams of CATCA and NAV Canada in the ongoing quest for a negotiated settlement. Proposals have now been exchanged on the main monetary issues, which enables both sides to assess the costs and benefits of an overall settlement.

B&F: Unifor National Union and Regional Council Scholarships

CATCA is pleased to announce the 2017 scholarship opportunities from Unifor.

Unifor has established 28 scholarships of $2,000 each. The bursaries are awarded to the children of Unifor members in good standing entering their first year of full-time post-secondary education in a Canadian institution.

A story of giving and sharing

When the Controllers in Fort McMurray heard that two of their own had also suffered at the hands of Mother Nature, they held a meeting and voted to send YQG $5,000 to be used towards the losses.

B&F: Health Spending Account Carryover

Will you have part of your 2016 Health Spending Account (HSA) allocation left over at the end of December? If so, you will be able to use that unused balance during 2017 – in addition to the fresh annual allocation of $750.
